Born in Maitland and raised in the Hunter Valley coalfields town of Kurri Kurri, Warren first grew a love for radio while at high school where there was a station of sorts broadcasting on the Public Address system at lunch.
Warren spent his late teens at Newcastle University community radio 2NUR-FM before taking up his first professional job at 8HA Alice Springs a week before his 20th birthday. Stints followed at 5PI Port Pirie/Whyalla (now 5CS) and 2DU Dubbo before a 16 year period at 2HD Newcastle, which concluded at the end of 2003.
2004 saw Warren briefly at 2GB Sydney over the summer holiday period, before working as a relief announcer for 2UE for most of 2004-2005.
Warren has now re-joined 2GB where he is heard on a range of programs.
Winner of two Australian Radio Awards for news and documentaries and a finalist for best provincial current affairs commentator, Warren started as a music announcer but quickly became passionate about the immediacy of live talk and news radio.
Warren has also written for newspapers and is available for media training sessions.
